Verona in one day: a first-visit itinerary
Verona in One Day: A Walkable Itinerary for First-Time Visitors

With one day in Verona, focus on the central sights, walk where you can and decide in advance whether you want an indoor museum or monument visit. This route leaves room for a break and can be adjusted to your arrival time.

Morning: Piazza Bra and the Arena

Start in Piazza Bra and take time to see the Arena from outside. If you have booked an entrance, build it into the morning and check the current opening hours. Continue along Via Mazzini towards Piazza delle Erbe.

Afternoon among the squares

Visit Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori and the Scaliger Tombs, then walk towards Ponte Pietra and the Adige. If you prefer a quieter afternoon, choose one museum rather than adding several indoor visits.

Arriving by train or plane

From Porta Nuova, walk or take a city bus to the centre. From Verona Airport, the Airlink 199 reaches the station; allow time for the final leg to your accommodation, especially with luggage.

Adjust the day to your pace

For a short visit, keep the route central and skip an indoor attraction. With a full day, include one timed visit and a longer riverside walk. In summer, start earlier and keep the hottest hours for lunch or a museum.

Frequently asked questions

Is one day enough for Verona?

One day is enough for a first walk through the main central sights, but not for every museum and nearby destination.

Can I do the itinerary on foot?

Yes. Most central stops are close together; public transport is useful for the station, airport and longer journeys.
